JScreen — Lynch Syndrome Resources

JScreen’s mission is to ensure every adult in the United States has access to preventive genetic testing and counseling to inform their reproductive options and understanding of their hereditary cancer risks.

Through its innovative platform, JScreen provides consumer-initiated access to genetic testing, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health.

  • Why hereditary cancer awareness matters – A family history of cancer can sometimes point to an inherited genetic risk. Understanding that history can help individuals make more informed decisions about their health and screening.
  • What jscreen does – jscreen is a nonprofit genetic testing program that helps people learn more about inherited genetic risks through testing, genetic counseling and educational resources. Genetic testing can provide information that may help individuals make informed decisions about prevention, screening, and next steps.
  • How the process works – People can visit jscreen.org to learn about available testing options and begin the registration process to receive their at-home genetic testing kit. The process includes providing a saliva sample, laboratory analysis, and a telehealth genetic counseling session to deliver information about the results.
  • A message for viewers – You don’t have to wait until you or someone in your family develops cancer to start asking questions about inherited risk. Learning about your family history and exploring whether genetic testing is right for you can be an important step toward being proactive about your health.
  • COST – $34 upfront fee with code Lynch4 at checkout.  The rest is billed to insurance.  Out-of-pocket costs vary by plan. If out of pocket cost is more than $249 patients can switch to self pay (which is $249) and financial aid is available if needed.  Patients should check their emails for cost estimates and email support@jscreen.org for any questions
